BREAK FORMATS
PICK YOUR TEAM (PYT) - STANDARD BREAKING ETIQUETTE, YOU SIMPLY CLAIM/PURCHASE THE TEAM YOU WANT AND ANY CARDS FROM THAT TEAM WILL BE SHIPPED TO YOU.
RANDOM TEAM - Another common style where instead of claiming a specific team you claim a number or spot which gets randomized to determine what team you will get.
DIVISIONAL - Instead of only getting one team, you pick the division you want and have rights to all the teams in that division.
CONFERENCE - You would get all teams/divisions in that conference
DIRECTIONAL - Similar to a divisional, but you would get both divisions from each conference ex) North would get both AFC NORTH and NFC NORTH
SERIAL NUMBER - A style generally used for products with high volume of numbered cards such as National Treasures or Flawless. It is run by using the left side of a serial number to determine the owner such as 23/99, would go to the person who has the 23 spot. if a serial number isn't there you resort to the actual card number on the back and it would go to the far-right number such as 109, would go the 9 spot.
HIT DRAFT - Used in small card quantity boxes, or just singles sales. Pay for a spot as normal, the list gets randomized to determine order and spot 1 starts off by picking the card they want and then goes to spot 2 to do the same and so on until all spots get a card.
SNAKE DRAFT - Much like a Hit Draft with a twist, starts off the same way but everyone would end up with 2 or sometimes more picks, say there is 10 cards available, you'd have 5 spots. You would start with spot 1 and move down to spot 5 then spot 5 would get a 2nd pick and continue to spot 1 to end the draft.
BUILD YOUR DIVISION - Not a commonly used style but provides some good value in a lot of cases as you have a little more control over your teams. This would be just like a Snake Draft but with teams instead of a single card/item and you'd have 8 spots each getting 4 teams.
DROPSHOT - This is the same as a PYT but priced a bit different. A PYT is priced out based on the value of each individual team in a product where a Dropshot is priced where the very topmost valuable teams are priced a little higher than a PYT, but all other teams are priced way lower than the standard. The increased price teams are usually run on a break filler.
BREAK FILLER - A cheaper way to get in for teams/spots that are either not selling do to demand or simply just very high priced. Mostly used as a 10-spot format where you pick your number, it gets randomized and whatever person lands in the 1st spot wins. Some breakers use the serial number method for fillers as well which gives everybody a shot on that team/spot. Essentially you could get a $400 spot for $40 or you could get nothing.
